Fir Balsam Essential Main Constituents: a,b-pinene: 44.2% l-bornyl acetate: 8.30% Botanical Name: Abies balsamea Plant Part: Needles Extraction Method: Steam Distilled Origin: Canada Description: Balsam Fir Needles are about 3/4 to 1-1/4 inches long with two white stripes running down the underside of each needle. Color: Colorless to pale yellow clear liquid. Consistency: Medium Aromatic Scent: Fir Balsam Essential Oil has a crisp, clean Christmas tree aroma that is uplifting, warming and calming. Note: Middle Strength of Aroma: Strong Blends well with: Pine, Cedarwood, Benzoin, Lavender, Spruce and Rosemary. Common Uses: Also known as Blistering Pine, Fir Balsam Essential Oil is often used in a diffuser or aromatherapy as it is considered stimulating and can be used to combat the symptoms of colds, cough, flu, sinus and chest congestion. It is also indicated as being an analgesic and having anti-inflammatory properties, hence it can be diluted in a Carrier Oil for massage to alleviate arthritis and muscular aches & pains. The oil is also commonly used in air fresheners and household cleansers. History: Fir Balsam has long been used in folk remedy for bronchitis, burns, catarrh and cold. Fir Balsam was applied to wounds during the American Civil war, and before the advent of chewing gum, was sold as a confection. It has been used traditionally for fever, rheumatic pain and any kind of respiratory or sinus infections. Cautions: Fir Balsam Essential Oil is reported to produce dermatitis when applied as perfume in concentrated form. Use well diluted. Avoid use during pregnancy. IMPORTANT: for external use only.
